Verso Capital is a Nordic private equity company investing in European B2B businesses with 10-100M€ in revenue. We look for businesses that target a leading position in their target market / niche or have the potential to disrupt the market equilibrium. We specialize in carve-outs and buy-out situations where we can leverage our extensive operational and carve-out experience to build sustainable growth businesses by increasing both revenue and profitability over a period of 3–5 years.

Verso currently employs five professionals in Helsinki, two in Stockholm, and one in Munich. We manage three funds with 160 million in capital.

We are now looking for a

CFO

to support our investment targets.

As CFO, your primary focus will be on our portfolio companies. You will typically be involved in due diligence (DD) processes, allowing you to apply your financial management expertise when evaluating potential investment targets.

Post-investment, you will usually serve as the CFO of the target company for approximately 6–12 months. During this time, you will ensure the establishment and effective operation of the finance function, oversee personnel recruitment, and develop financial management processes, working as the CEO’s "right hand" and sparring partner.

With your own expertise, you ensure the executability of business plans and the realization of profitable growth. If needed, you may also lead turnaround initiatives, manage change projects, and reorganizations. Following the operational phase, you may be asked to continue contributing as a board member or advisor to the company.

You will operate in this role through your own company or as a Verso employee. You will work as an essential part of our core team, and we expect you to demonstrate the determination and long-term commitment to Verso’s operations, along with the motivation and capability to grow into more senior roles within Verso’s organization.

During the first few years, your primary workplace will be in Helsinki. The position also requires some traveling abroad.

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria:

• A university-level degree in business (e.g., MBA or similar)

• 10-15 years of work experience with a proven track record of successful financial management in growth companies operating in international environments

• demonstrated ability to ensure business profitability during rapid growth phases, with experience in managing and executing change projects when necessary

• experience in DD processes and business acquisitions is considered an advantage

• the ability to act as the managing director's "right hand", with robust business understanding and the capacity to implement necessary measures based on analyses and forecasts

• fluent in both English and Finnish, proficiency in Swedish and/or German is a significant advantage

• strategic and analytical skills; the ability to manage complex entities and develop financial management processes

• willingness and ability to take action and work operationally when required

• strong stakeholders negotiation skills

• ambition and commitment to ensure the realization of the company's growth goals

• excellent interpersonal and cooperative abilities, especially when working with the portfolio company organizations, board members, and company owners.
